DEH VEHICLE ACCESS (TRACK) POLICY 

The Department for Environment and Heritage (DEH) enables sustainable vehicle access in parks and reserves. Preventing or minimising impacts on natural and cultural values is a responsibility shared by DEH and vehicle users.

DEH VEHICLE ACCESS (TRACK) PROCEEDURE 

Vehicle access in parks and reserves is managed in accordance with the Department for Environment and Heritage (DEH) Vehicle Access (Tracks) Policy.

Vehicles are allowed on roads open to the public in all parks and reserves. Vehicles are not allowed elsewhere in parks and reserves under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 (SA) (NPW Act) or Wilderness Protection Areas and Zones (WPAs) under the Wilderness Protection Act 1992 (SA) WP Act) unless the area is set aside for vehicle access in accordance with legislation (section 3.1.3) or written permission has been granted.
